Anyone who knows me knows I am not a runner. I have distinct memories of yelling at the treadmill when having to run just 20 minutes a day from my trainer at the time. My least favorite thing. So you might be thinking from the above picture why on earth do I now own the running watch??? While I remember the hated runs each day I also remember that during this time when I was really good about running daily that if I had to miss my body missed those runs. As I've been trying to figure out the best way to get back into exercising I kept thinking about running (maybe more like jogging! :)). For some crazy reason I'm always impressed when I read people's stories of marathons or other runs they do. While I'm not quite sure this is an end goal I have - still don't get what your brain does while you run for 4 hours, I just think I'd be bored - it's intrigued me and running makes the most sense. I don't have to drive to a gym that really isn't by my home or work. I can just walk out my front door and put in my time. Since I prefer residential streets I needed some way to track how far I was going so I'd be able to see my progress and hopefully that'd help push me on those days when I feel like yelling. Here's where the super nice running watch comes in...built in GPS! Now I don't have to do any of that work, I can go put in my time & just look at my wrist and see how far I've gone. It'll even keep record on my computer to track my progress and many other things I don't even know now. Amazon.com has promised it'll be here by Thursday, so that's when the real fun will start, but until then I'll have to just rely on my brain! :) Wish me luck!

that sounds awesome! i should be thinking about one too...
That is too cool! Having fun gadgets like that makes goals like that a little easier somehow.
Way to go with the running. I too am NOT a runner yet in my brain I am the most coordinated, practiced, fast runner there is. I wish that all the times I run in my brain, counted toward my exercise goals. Maybe you'll want to run in a short marathon someday! One that takes an hour, not 4. I'm with you on that.
